Getting Started with RSS
Det-Tronics RSS feed provides a resource for people concerned with improving industrial safety and brings usable safety-application
expertise directly to viewers' PC desktops.
Getting Started with RSS
Keep Current Easily by Using RSS
The internet presents many rich sources of information: magazines, news sites, and ever-changing technical updates. A person could visit a dozen different sites every day to keep current on world and industry news. A more efficient way to gather that same information is to view it through RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds.
When an RSS reader application is set up to monitor certain sites, it gathers RSS-feed postings from those sites and – in one window – presents them with short excerpts from the related story. The RSS reader finds all of the articles posted since the last time it was checked. Clicking on an interesting headline displays the full story.
Use the Quick Sign-Up Method
If you have MS Internet Explorer (IE) 7.0, click this link to be guided through the process and include the free Det-Tronics RSS feed on your Internet Explorer browser.
Or Follow These Steps…
Step 1: Get an RSS reader
There are two types of RSS readers: 1. A program that is installed on a PC. 2. A web page that is set up and can be accessed from any PC anywhere.
There are many free RSS readers available. Here are two: Google Reader and NewsGator. In addition, using MS IE 7.0, RSS feeds can be set to appear on the left side of the browser window.
Step 2: Sign up for RSS feeds
Sign up for our free RSS feed by clicking on the RSS Feed link in the left navigation bar and adding that link (seen in the URL line on your browser) to your RSS reader.
You can also sign up to receive our free RSS feed via email. Enter your email address in the field in the left-hand column. You will be guided through the process by a service called FeedBurner. You will see their logo on the pop-up window. Don’t be confused by their logo – it’s the Det-Tronics RSS feed you are signing up for. After you sign up, you will receive an email that includes that day’s posting.
Our Committment to Privacy
We will not use your email for anything other than sending you RSS postings. We will not pass your email to anyone else. We will not gather any information about you for our own use or for anyone else’s use.
We are committed to
